Chapter 618: The True Dragon Form
Chapter 618: The True Dragon Form
The arena gates opened slowly.
From one side, Kaelvar Ignis walked out with calm steps.
His crimson horns glowed faintly, and waves of heat rolled from his body. Every step he took left a faint burn mark on the arena floor.
From the other side, Dahlia walked out with both hands behind her head, looking far too relaxed for someone entering the final.
The crowd instantly erupted.
"Kaelvar!"
"Dahlia!"
"God Gym!"
"Ignis Family!"
Above the arena, the giant holographic screen flashed again.
[Final Match]
[Dahlia Draconia vs Kaelvar Ignis]
Kaelvar stopped in the center of the battlefield and looked at Dahlia coldly. "So you really came this far."
Dahlia grinned. "Obviously."
Kaelvar’s golden eyes narrowed. "You may have awakened some strange dragon bloodline, but don’t misunderstand."
Crimson flame slowly rose around his body. "You are still only a wild dragon born from luck."
The temperature inside the arena began rising rapidly. "I’ll show you the difference between a lucky awakened dragon..."
His flame aura exploded outward.
BOOOOOOM!!!
"...and a real dragon raised by true dragon inheritance."
Inside the viewing room, the Ignis elder nodded slightly, his expression calm but proud.
Meanwhile, Garion only leaned back with a grin.
Back in the arena, Dahlia stared at Kaelvar’s flames for a moment.
Then she slowly lowered her hands. "Hahaha..."
Her grin became sharp and dangerous. "Good."
A faint storm aura flickered around her body. "Then show me."
Kaelvar’s eyes burned brighter.
Dahlia cracked her knuckles and stepped forward. "Show me this real dragon power you’re so proud of."
Thunder rumbled faintly above the arena.
Kaelvar’s crimson flames surged higher.
For a moment, storm and fire faced each other in silence.
Then the announcer’s voice roared.
"BEGIN!"
The moment the announcer’s voice fell, Kaelvar moved first.
BOOM!
Crimson flames exploded beneath his feet as his body shot forward like a burning meteor.
His clawed hand tore through the air, wrapped in dragon fire.
[Ignis Dragon Claw]
Dahlia grinned and stepped forward instead of dodging.
Black-blue lightning flashed around her fist.
[Thunder Storm Fist]
BOOOOOOM!!!
Fist and claw collided in the center of the arena.
Flame and thunder exploded outward, slamming against the protective barrier and making the entire battlefield tremble.
The crowd instantly roared. "They clashed head-on!"
"Neither of them backed down!"
"Dragon versus dragon is really different!"
Kaelvar’s golden eyes sharpened as he pushed more flame into his claw.
But Dahlia suddenly twisted her body, letting the force slide past her shoulder before slamming her knee toward his stomach.
BANG!
Kaelvar crossed one arm to block, but the impact still forced him back several steps.
Dahlia laughed. "Good defense."
Kaelvar frowned slightly.
Before he could answer, Dahlia vanished.
WHOOSH!
Wind wrapped around her legs, increasing her speed sharply.
She appeared beside him and punched again.
Kaelvar quickly turned, flame gathering around both arms.
[Flame Dragon Guard]
BOOM!
Dahlia’s fist struck the flaming defense, but instead of stopping, violent wind burst from her arm and scattered part of the flames.
Kaelvar’s expression changed.
Dahlia’s grin widened. "Storm isn’t just thunder."
She spun and kicked.
[Tornado Kick]
BOOOOOOM!!!
A spiraling blast of wind slammed into Kaelvar’s side and sent him sliding across the arena floor.
For the first time, the Flame Dragon Clan genius was pushed back.
Inside the Ignis viewing room, the elder’s eyes narrowed slightly.
Garion, sitting beside him, grinned wider. "Oh? Looks like my disciple is leading."
The elder said nothing.
Back in the arena, Kaelvar steadied himself. His flames burned hotter, but his expression was no longer as calm as before.
Dahlia stood across from him with lightning crawling over her arms and wind circling around her body.
She cracked her knuckles. "What’s wrong?"
Her grin turned teasing. "I thought you were going to show me real dragon power."
Kaelvar’s eyes became colder.
Dahlia laughed loudly and stepped forward again. "Come on, Flame Dragon."
Thunder rumbled above her. "Don’t tell me God Gym’s wild dragon is already too much for you."
Kaelvar’s expression finally darkened.
The flames around him surged violently, no longer controlled and quiet like before. "You really talk too much."
Dahlia grinned. "And you’re finally getting angry."
Kaelvar’s golden eyes burned with fury. "Fine."
His voice dropped lower. "Since you want to see real dragon power..."
The crimson flames around his body exploded upward like a volcanic eruption.
BOOOOOOM!!!
The entire arena shook.
Dahlia’s eyes narrowed slightly as Kaelvar’s body began changing.
His arms expanded.
His skin split into layers of crimson scales.
His horns grew longer and sharper.
Massive wings burst from his back, spreading wide enough to cover half the arena in shadow.
His body continued growing larger and larger until, finally, a gigantic western-style flame dragon stood in the center of the battlefield.
His crimson scales glowed like molten metal, fire leaked from between his fangs, and a blazing aura surrounded his entire body.
The crowd went completely wild.
"He transformed!"
"Kaelvar’s true dragon form!"
"That’s the Ignis Family’s flame dragon body!"
Inside the viewing room, the Ignis elder finally smiled faintly. "This is the difference."
Garion leaned forward slightly, his grin still there, but his eyes had become sharper.
Back in the arena, Dahlia looked up at the enormous flame dragon in front of her.
For the first time, Kaelvar’s size alone made her look small.
His deep voice rumbled across the battlefield. "Now..."
Flames gathered inside his mouth. "Show me how your wild dragon bloodline handles this."
[Ignis Dragon Breath]
BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
A massive river of crimson dragon fire blasted toward Dahlia.
Dahlia immediately crossed both arms as storm energy erupted around her body.
[Storm Guard]
Thunder and wind formed a defensive barrier in front of her.
But the dragon breath was far stronger than before.
The flames smashed into her storm defense and pushed her backward instantly.
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
The arena floor broke beneath her feet as she was forced back several dozen meters.
Dahlia gritted her teeth. "Damn..."
The storm barrier cracked.
Then...
BOOOOM!!!
The flames broke through and blasted her across the arena.
Dahlia rolled across the ground before slamming one hand down to stop herself.
Smoke rose from her arms, and parts of her clothes were burned.
Kaelvar’s huge wings spread wide as he rose slightly into the air. "You are strong."
His voice echoed like thunder. "But you are not stronger than my inheritance."
