Chapter 512 - Heading Out
Chapter 512 - Heading Out
And if things ever became so bad that staying was no longer an option, the Leyan Family could simply leave.
At present, Leyvi had access to two Spiritual Veins. One belonged entirely to the Leyan Family, while the other originally belonged to Bellion and Kiyara. For now, he was free to use it, at least until one of them returned to claim it.
However, reclaiming it wouldn’t be easy.
To truly take ownership, they would need to be strong enough to protect it. Otherwise, possessing such a resource would only bring disaster upon them. Reaching that level of strength was far from simple. Even under ideal conditions, it would likely take several hundred years. If their cultivation progress was anything less than smooth, it could easily stretch into a thousand years or more.
Of course, the same risk applied to the Leyan Family.
But this was a risk Leyvi and Anda were willing to take. With their current capabilities, they were confident they could keep the existence of the Spiritual Veins hidden.
For all practical purposes, the Leyan Family now controlled both of them.
And in Leyvi’s mind, there was even a possibility of discovering more Spiritual Veins in the future. If that happened, then even if Bellion eventually returned to reclaim his share, it wouldn’t make much difference.
Deep beneath the Leyan Family estate, a vast underground cave mansion now existed, constructed by Scarlet just a month ago in the span of a few days.
Compared to the one Tamina had built in the Mystic Realm, Scarlet’s creation was far superior in both scale and quality. More importantly, she was capable of digging much deeper into the earth.
What made her ability truly remarkable was its stability. Any space she created would never collapse under its own weight or due to natural causes. This meant the underground mansion was permanently secure, at least from environmental factors.
Of course, it wasn’t indestructible. If someone deliberately attacked it with sufficient power, it could still be destroyed.
Like all abilities, Scarlet’s digging talent had its limits. For now, she could only excavate up to a certain depth and volume. The closer she got to that limit, the more difficult the process became. However, as her Dig talent improved, those limits would gradually expand, allowing her to create even larger and deeper structures in the future.
In the spacious cave mansion, five hundred meters beneath the surface, a Spiritual Vein floated at its center, pulsing with a calm, steady glow.
Its appearance was no longer the same as before. Using his spiritual touch ability, Leyvi had reshaped it into a perfect sphere. Of course, this was not the entirety of the Spiritual Vein.
From the base of the spherical core, numerous branching lines extended outward, spreading throughout the entire cave mansion and reaching into every available room. Within each room, these branches connected to smaller spherical nodes, forming a complete network that distributed its energy evenly.
Barbara had once warned Leyvi never to separate a Spiritual Vein into independent pieces, as doing so would disrupt its fundamental structure and potentially cause it to lose its ability to generate energy endlessly. However, as long as it remained connected as a whole, he was free to shape and extend it as much as he desired.
Because of that, the entire system remained intact.
From this point onward, the cave mansion would serve as the primary cultivation ground for the Leyan Family, whether for daily casual cultivation or long-term secluded cultivation.
Yet, the cave mansion was not the only place influenced by the Spiritual Vein.
Leyvi had extended its branching lines further, weaving them into every building within the Leyan Family estate. The mansions, the offices, the workshops, all of them now contained hidden strands of the Spiritual Vein embedded within their walls.
These unseen veins quietly transformed the environment.
The density of spiritual energy across the entire estate increased dramatically. In the past, such conditions could only be achieved through complex arrays and formations that required a constant supply of spirit stones. Now, not only was the effect stronger, but it came without any ongoing cost.
And more importantly...
The quality of spiritual energy produced by the Spiritual Vein was on an entirely different level. Simply being within its presence was enough to gradually enhance every aspect of the body.
Barbara had also formed an interesting theory.
If a mortal without a spirit root were exposed to the energy of a Spiritual Vein over a long period of time, their body might gradually evolve into that of a body cultivator. The continuous nourishment of high-quality spiritual energy could naturally enhance their cells, strengthening them from within.
This theory was something she developed during her time working with Ava, while trying to refine and improve her body cultivation method.
If it proved to be true, then it would completely change things for the Leyan Family.
Anyone who wished to walk the path of a pure Body Cultivator in the future wouldn’t have to endure the same excruciating process Ava went through. There would be no need to soak in specialized alchemical solutions or suffer through painful enhancements. Simply training their body within the presence of a Spiritual Vein might be enough to achieve similar results.
From this point onward, the Leyan Family could enjoy all of these benefits.
Of course, the Spiritual Vein wasn’t without its drawbacks.
Unlike spirit stones, it couldn’t be carried around. If they left the estate and relied on spirit stones for cultivation, the difference would be immense. The drop in quality and density of spiritual energy might even discourage them from cultivating altogether.
There was also another concern.
If they weren’t careful, everyone in the Leyan Family might eventually turn into shut-ins, unwilling to leave the incredibly rich environment created by the Spiritual Vein. Leyvi could already imagine it happening. Fortunately, he was certain Anda would come up with some kind of countermeasure when the time came.
With one Spiritual Vein already settled within the Leyan Family estate, Leyvi planned to bring the other one to Alita later, after he finished enjoying his current period of leisure.
With Senior Lapin around, he felt somewhat reassured, even if the entire situation turned out to be a scheme.
After everything he had experienced, Leyvi no longer trusted others so easily. Human nature had shown him enough. There was no telling what might happen once Alita obtained a Spiritual Vein.
That said, he still needed to try to get his hands on the Universe Airship. He needed it for the absolute worst-case scenario, when his family had no choice but to flee.
Back then, when Alita spoke about the cosmos and other planets, he hadn’t understood any of it. But now, things were different. He was aware of the vastness beyond their world... and even of the existence of cosmic predators.
If their world ever attracted the attention of such beings, then having a way out would be crucial.
In that scenario, Alita’s Universe Airship would become the ultimate lifesaving treasure, a means to escape to safer planets if everything fell apart.
So even if there was a risk of being schemed against...
Leyvi knew he still had to try to obtain it.
---
The next day.
It was the First Day of the First Month, Year 1 of the Archipela Calendar.
For now, that was all there was to it. As announced previously, the full structure of the Archipela Calendar would be revealed later.
At this moment, a man and a woman exited Bara City through the east gate before flying northeast together.
"Hahaha! I don’t think anyone recognized us, Anda. When was the last time we were able to walk around the city without so many people trying to greet us?" Leyvi laughed.
"Hehe. That was only you. I can still walk around without people bothering me, you know. At most, they would just nod at me. They are all afraid of offending me," Anda replied with a giggle.
"Eh? Really? Should I act scary too? I don’t want people greeting me all the time when I’m out," Leyvi said.
His most embarrassing moment was when he went to the Grand Love Hotel with his wives and people kept greeting him even at the entrance. It was fine for him since he was used to being shameless, but the ladies were a different story.
Anda smiled. "Even if you tried to act scary, they wouldn’t believe it. Your nice reputation is too deeply ingrained in them. But don’t worry, we have the Face Changing Cream now. If you don’t want to be bothered, just use it."
"Uhh... although I’m not handsome, I still prefer my own face," Leyvi replied.
At the moment, Leyvi and Anda were both in disguise as they headed toward the Sword Grave Canyon with a clear purpose.
After thinking it through the previous night, Leyvi had decided to obtain the Universe Airship as soon as possible.
When he told Anda about his decision, she immediately suggested they do it today.
So, without delay... they set off.
