Chapter 768 - 767: Slapped Himself
"What can she be here for!" The Matron Grant sighed lightly. She had received a call from Renee Grant, and it was clear from the call how much Renee resented Claire Sullivan and Serena Sullivan.
"Isn’t Felix Lockwood pursuing your mother-in-law?"
The news was all over Solaria.
Renee was definitely here about this matter. She was deeply infatuated with Felix, and they had been married for more than twenty years, with a son together.
Felix divorced her, and how could she accept that!
So she chased him all the way to the Imperial Capital!
"She’s here, let her be." Ethan Grant said with disdain. He was never afraid of Renee, and he certainly wasn’t now.
"I know you’ll protect Serena, it’s just..." The Matron Grant hesitated, as Ethan wondered what she meant to say.
"She claims that Felix fathered a daughter with Claire in secret, and that daughter is in the Imperial Capital!"
"I don’t know if her mind is broken, she’s just imagining things."
The Matron Grant hadn’t interacted much with Claire, but over the past few days, she hadn’t seen Felix around here.
If Felix wasn’t pursuing Claire, then it was because Claire didn’t give him any chance and made things clear.
Since Claire wasn’t interested, saying she had a daughter with Felix was just nonsense.
"Let her be." Ethan said coldly, "Mom, if you see her, please give her a warning on my behalf."
He wouldn’t go easy on her just because she was his half-sister.
"Okay!"
The Matron Grant nodded, "It’s been so hard for you and Serena to be together. This time, I’m really afraid she won’t wake up again."
As The Matron Grant spoke, her eyes reddened.
"Thankfully, heaven had mercy, Serena is safe and sound. You two must take good care of each other from now on."
Thinking about the past, The Matron Grant truly felt regretful.
She didn’t regret divorcing Mr. Grant, but she regretted not helping Ethan and Serena be together four years ago.
If she had stood up against Mr. Grant and Renee back then, they wouldn’t have suffered so much and wouldn’t have taken so long to find each other again.
"Yes, she’s finally awake."
"If she hadn’t woken up, mom, I might have been an unfilial son." Ethan’s words made The Matron Grant’s eyes even redder, and tears fell.
"Mom understands." The Matron Grant nodded with tears in her eyes, "If it really came to that, I wouldn’t blame you."
"Ethan, you must love Serena well in the future, never bully her again."
"If you’re not good to her, mom won’t forgive you."
The Matron Grant said earnestly.
Her son loved Serena so much, almost to the point of madness for her, and even didn’t care for his life. As his mother, she could only treat Serena even better.
"Thank you, mom!" Ethan said sincerely.
After they finished talking, The Matron Grant went back to the hotel to rest. Ethan turned around and headed back to the hospital room. As he reached the door, his hand stopped in mid-air, suddenly afraid to push it open.
Having been separated from Serena so many times, he was worried that when he opened the door, everything just now would have been a dream, and inside, Serena would still be lying on the bed, asleep.
That state of sleep made him feel as if she would never wake up in this lifetime.
Ethan withdrew his hand and slapped his cheek.
The door was opened from the inside by Wyatt Sterling, and Serena, on the bed, saw Ethan giving himself a slap.
The slap left Serena stunned, and even Wyatt was dumbfounded.
"Serena, is this guy crazy?"
He must be crazy; otherwise, who would slap themselves?
