Chapter 512 - 352: Terrifying Physical Exam Results
Wang Ye felt a slight tension inside upon hearing this.
He continued asking:
"Is their rank higher than yours?"
"Higher than mine," Ning Junyi replied.
Ning Junyi’s response
deepened Wang Ye’s concern.
Although Ning Junyi had been interacting with him quite a bit recently,
he seemed a bit informal.
But when it came to rank,
it might not actually be low.
And now Ning Junyi said that these people’s ranks are higher than his.
What does this mean?
Perhaps the heads of all military regions nationwide have arrived.
And they’re all here to witness his strength.
As they talked,
a man in his forties or fifties, wearing a regular uniform, walked over
and shook hands with Wang Ye.
"You must be Wang Ye, truly talented and accomplished at a young age. My surname is Yi, just call me Old Yi."
"Not young anymore, I’m already thirty," Wang Ye said with a smile.
Old Yi shook his head. "You still seem quite young to me, and a bright future awaits you. Conduct yourself well." Clearly, he was implying Wang Ye should not use his abilities to do anything illegal. Additionally, he seemed to be putting himself above and Wang Ye below.
"That’s true," Wang Ye replied casually.
"No need to be too nervous about the medical examination. We’re just here to see, after all, you know your strength deserves attention now," Old Yi reminded him. "You don’t need to worry that any finding will lead to dissection or anything; that’s only something virtual scenarios would do. In reality, you’re a unique case. As long as you don’t pose a threat to society, we’ll treat you as a treasure."
"Do I determine whether I’m a threat?" Wang Ye responded with slight mockery. After his conscious evolution, his thought process had become more rational and void-like; in other words, it went straight to the essence without any roundabout.
"You can prove it," Old Yi’s tone remained calm, showing no surprise at Wang Ye’s words. "Or it doesn’t matter if you prove it or not, as long as you maintain the status quo. Personal power is very small compared to national power, you know this."
"Thank you for the reminder," Wang Ye stopped continuing the conversation.
Old Yi also turned to chat with other officers.
While waiting for the medical examination, Wang Ye looked around.
Most of the officers’ eyes, looking at him, carried a hint of scrutiny.
They seemed to have no intention of engaging deeply with Wang Ye, their eyes held only wariness and distance.
The current danger Wang Ye posed was too high, being the core of the nation’s main armed forces, they naturally needed to keep a certain distance from Wang Ye.
They came from afar to evaluate Wang Ye’s strength, to make response plans, without caring about what Wang Ye thought.
Although there was nothing unusual about their behavior,
Wang Ye felt somewhat displeased with their scrutinizing attitude,
because he felt like a carnivorous animal in a zoo,
being watched through a layer of tempered glass by countless people.
Evidently, they recognized Wang Ye’s strength, but not entirely.
They only thought Wang Ye posed a certain threat, unlikely to cause major disturbance.
Including Old Yi earlier, although his tone was respectful, his words were filled with disdain for Wang Ye. It was as if he was just an ordinary person holding a controlled knife, needing certain control measures but not requiring armed restrictions.
Wang Ye closed his eyes,
"Since everyone is so eager to see my true power... let’s show it."

About ten minutes later,
the medical examination began.
The first step was the blood draw phase.
Firstly, a few tubes of blood were drawn to test the blood sample.
Wang Ye came to the blood draw station, where a nurse tied a tourniquet and began searching for the vein to draw blood with a needle.
Typically, this stainless steel needle wouldn’t penetrate his skin.
Even if the needle were to bend, his skin would suffer no damage.
But to cooperate with the examination, Wang Ye deliberately weakened the skin’s strength at the blood draw site,
which meant decreasing the density of skin cells around that area.
And he dispelled the Gang Qi on the skin’s surface.
He tried to lower his Defense Power to the realm of an ordinary person.
But even so, the needle barely pierced his skin after several tries.
The nurse responsible for drawing blood couldn’t help scratching her head in wonder.
This needle, both in hardness and sharpness, was very high.
It’s not just unfathomable for ordinary people; even a slight touch would cause bleeding.
Therefore, she rarely used much force when drawing blood from soldiers; it went in effortlessly.
But when piercing Wang Ye’s skin, she felt as if she’d hit several layers of leather, completely unable to penetrate, although she could feel a certain toughness under the needle. Pushing down hard would slightly indent, but the needle just wouldn’t go in.
This phenomenon was bizarre, completely beyond the nurse’s understanding.
Fortunately, after trying strenuously several times, the skin was pierced.
She successfully drew two tubes of blood.
But the color of the blood
once again puzzled the nurse.
Normal blood, typically depending on the levels of red and white blood cells, appears in different shades; actual polycythemia blood would appear dark red, while leukemia patients’ blood, due to fewer red blood cells, would appear light red.
