Chapter 149: Corrupted Alexandria
Chapter 149: Corrupted Alexandria
"You came..."
Alexanderia said with an amused tone; in the middle of the desert, Ray stood in front of her with his usual stance.
Before Ray could say anything, Alexanderia attacked him. Three dark slashes came from all directions, with her teleporting between them.
A red claw tore apart two of the slashes, and with his scythe, he blocked the last one. Her stance changed to a lightning bolt as her katana aimed for Ray’s neck.
"Fast." Instead of blocking them, Ray dodged her attacks with a speed near the speed of light; blocking her attacks was pointless.
"Stand up and fight!" Alexandria groaned while chasing after Ray; she had planned for so long for this fight. The reason she had chosen lightning magic was because it could counter blood magic.
Teleporting a few meters back, the lighting followed him, yet mid-air Ray stopped his teleportation. A red claw pierced the place that he was going to be.
Alexanderia returned to her human form with her clothes torn apart. "How does it feel to be fought by your own tricks?" Dark lighting healed her wounds in an instant.
Laughing from the bottom of his heart, the sky became red with blood arrows. His command to them was simple: "Cause pain."
She wanted to continue her attacks, but her lightning magic had another idea; before her projectiles could be launched, a sea of lightning swallowed them.
Raising an eyebrow Ray asked, "It’s using your magic; what was that?" After a few observations, Ray was sure that her lightning magic was so unbalanced with her body that something else used it at the same rate with her.
Without replying, she launched another attack; from the ground, thousands of slashes came his way.
"Something is not right." Ray thought while dodging all the strikes, "Even in our previous fight she felt stronger!"
Their fight continued with Alexanderia using her simplest attacks and Ray causing harm with no effort.
The reason resembled Alexanderia’s cursed body; after the letter, she had told all the other generals that she wanted to go. All of them disagreed; however, one man agreed. The king of silence encouraged her to destroy him as soon as possible.
After the first minute of fighting, the brain took control of all of her magic and body. She could only watch as her body talked and attacked; inside of her, the two magics were colliding instantly to reach the boiling point.
A bomb for making sure that Ray would have died too. With anger she tried to fight back, yet nothing could work; brain controlled half of her body, and her magic had despised him for some time after taking another type.
Harsh reality became clear; all the military were like dolls in the hands of the king of silence. All the generals that he cared about were going to get killed for his goals. If she died, he would have successfully turned all of them into cyborgs.
She had still one hope remaining; using all the remaining energy, she forced her body to say the words: "Save me...."
Ray froze, and everything became clear; the reason she didn’t use her death magic was because she couldn’t. As a human sacrifice, they wanted to kill Ray too with her; stopping whatever happened to her was too late; the best option was to run.
"Inferno’s door."
Dismissing his weapon, Ray summoned his clones instead. His opponent didn’t answer with her own domain, just more and more slashes like a crazy person.
Turning his blood into diamond, Ray started to charge toward her. Catching lightning was a hard task on its own; a frenzied general didn’t help at all.
As a bolt, she circled around the domain, sending death slashed in all directions.
"Bad luck that you are matched against me." From the boundaries of his domain, blood flooded into the desert.
In seconds half of his domain was filled with blood, yet his magic was draining drastically. The lightning bolt dived into the sea of blood, electronizing the whole liquid. His weaker clones vaporized as they entered the sea; however, Ray and his two main clones dived too.
Blood lances launched from his hands; instead of Alexanderia herself, his target was to corner her in place. Making cages around it didn’t work either, as a blast of electricity vaporized it.
Burning from the electricity returned some magic through his cape; his opponent didn’t have the same luxury as her magic got weaker over time.
"You must keep some for the final act... Surround her already." More walls tried to tame the light.
The lightning bolt changed form into her human body, yet still it was made out of lightning. Her katana fell from her hands into the bottom of the red sea.
With each attack, her real body became more visible. Like a caged wild animal, bursts of lightning exploded around her.
"Only 30 percent left..." Ray cursed inwardly, sustaining his domain and a full seacoast cost too much magic. With his two clones, all of them charged toward the body of lightning.
"Run... Its plan is completed." With how weak the control of the brain had become, she regained some control over her body.
Her body stopped doing anything, while the occasional lightning bursts continued.
Two of Ray’s clones held her hand while he stood in front of her.
"This is going to be a very painful experience..." Ray said with a worrisome face; there was still the possibility that all of it was an act to lure him in.
"What are you doing this? Just run."
"Shut up."
"Should I run?" For the last time, Ray analyzed his choices. If he would have successfully cleared the machine out of her body, she would turn into his slave permanently, yet if he failed, he wouldn’t leave the explosion range unscratched. "Her value is way more than some injuries!"
His hand penetrated her chest; her beating heart deflected his hand by death magic. His healing magic and death magic collided with his hand constantly dying and reviving itself.
After a few more tries the tip of his finger touched her bare heart. With the simple touch, all of her defenses lowered to his presence.
"Essence of the world."
