Chapter 140: Woolie’s Underlying Problem
Chapter 140: Woolie’s Underlying Problem
Raiden patted Sylvia’s back until she calmed down somewhat, climbing down from his body as she blushed.
"Aww ~ It looks like my little sister missed me a lot, huh?" Raiden smirked a little, causing an annoyed expression to appear on Sylvia’s face.
"Who missed you, stinky big brother?! I was just missing Woolie, and Neva, humph!!" Sylvia pouted as she spoke, turning her head towards the side.
"Don’t you know, tsunderes are out of fashion nowadays? Anyway, enough about you. Where is Aunt Ruby? I need to speak to her quickly. It’s urgent." A serious expression appeared on his face as he spoke.
"Huh? Did something serious happen?? She is resting by that big Banyan Tree." A concerned look appeared on her face as she asked.
"Haha, nothing like that. I just want to report back to her. I will see you later." After ruffling her hair a little, Raiden handed sleeping Neva to Sylvia and broke into a run, clutching Woolie the entire time.
’Please Gods, let there be a solution, because if she cannot help me, I don’t know who can.’
At his full speed, he reached the big Banyan Tree Sylvia was talking about, which was a few kilometres in. It was the same tree which he went the evolution under, from Bronze to Silver Tier Battle Master.
Ruby, who was taking a nap silently under the tree, opened her Serpentine eyes at the unexpected arrival.
"Hmm? You aree back, Rai Rai~ You look strongerr than beforee. Thiss—What happened??" Ruby paused as she was speaking, quickly noticing something was wrong with the sleeping little sheep.
She quickly slithered her giant body, coiling around Raiden as she peered closely at Woolie’s unconscious body.
"Aunt Ruby, Woolie has been like this for almost a month!! I don’t know what to do. Can you figure out what went wrong with him or wake him up?" Raiden’s voice quivered a little as he spoke. Ruby was his last hope.
"Whatt exactly happenedd?? Explain it all to me clearly." Ruby’s golden eyes narrowed as she spoke, her anger and pressure building up, influencing the surroundings as the space itself started to distort and crack.
Hearing her question, it was like a dam that flooded out, as Raiden poured out all his grievances, starting from the first day he was there to the month he spent in that place and the plot against him. He spoke about getting lost in the jungle, barely surviving the confrontation against the black dragon, making his way back alone, and everything else.
By the time he was done, Ruby had a murderous expression on her face.
"They daree to targett you?? I will sink this whole goddamned cityy for suchh atrocity." A murderous aura erupted from her body as her golden pupils started shining, shaking the whole farm land as everything within the 100-kilometre radius felt an inexplicable pressure on their souls, making them fall down on their knees.
This pressure kept getting stronger and stronger before the sky itself darkened as a large shadow fell over their heads. Raiden looked up in the sky from his knees, forgot to breathe for a moment as he saw a sight that almost made him piss his pants.
A gigantic ocean of blood hovered in the air, boiling with fury, threatening to consume all living creation. The ocean of blood stretched over the horizon, easily going a few hundred kilometres long, and it kept growing bigger with every passing second.
When he gazed at the blood of the ocean, Raiden could feel the murderous intent and the millions of skeletons that had drowned in it. He felt like he could hear the screams from it, the screams of the dead.
He had no doubt that if this ever fell on top of the city, it would be gone for good.
"Aunt Ruby!! C-Calm down!! It’s okay!! Woolie!! We first need to heal Woolie. We can take care of the enemies later." His words seemed to have an effect on Ruby as the pressure on his soul vanished before the ocean of blood disappeared from the sky as if it had never been there.
"You are rightt. Wooliee firstt, revenge secondd."
Raiden breathed a sigh of relief after hearing her words. This was the first time he had seen a mythical Terran show their powers, and he swore to never ever piss off his aunt ever again, or who knows, she might wipe out a few cities in her anger. She was like a walking nuclear bomb that could explode any second. This was the powers of a Mythical Terra Beast, something capable of sinking an entire continent — and he had a feeling she wasn’t even using her full strength.
To keep her distracted, Raiden quickly told her what the Holy Saint said about Woolie and two souls in his body.
"Two differentt souls, huh? Let me see..." A drop of blood flew from the tip of Ruby’s tail before it expanded into a gigantic blood dome and engulfed Woolie’s whole body inside of it.
Ruby closed her eyes in concentration while Raiden stood off to the side, feeling slightly anxious. What was wrong with Woolie? What had happened to him? Can he wake up? When will he wake up? Will he be okay? Who was the other soul hiding inside his body?
A second later, Ruby opened her eyes, with a sneer forming at the corner of her mouth.
"Aunt Ruby, what’s wrong with him?? Will he be okay??" Raiden rushed towards her and asked anxiously.
"Heh, it’s nothingg but an old dyingg wolf tryingg to gain control. Don’t worryy, he will wake up soon." Ruby answered in a calm manner, but Raiden’s mind was anything but calm after hearing her words.
"A dying wolf? What are you talking about, Aunt? Is there really another soul inside his body? Is someone trying to take over? What will happen to Woolie? Is he going to be okay??"
"Calm down Rai Rai~ I will explainn everythingg." Ruby patted his head with her tail, making him take a deep breath to suppress his growing anxiety. Ruby nodded in approval after seeing this.
"Inside Woolie’s body, there is..."
