Chapter 142 - 29: The City of Camelot Rises [1]
The huge monster rushed towards Lancelot with its limbs slicing across the air with huge force, trying to crush and tear Lancelot with a heavy blow, but Lancelot effortlessly defended against the spider monster's savage offence, deflecting its eight limbs and cutting them cleanly until all eight limbs were filled with sword wounds.
"Graaaa Yuna!"
In its despair, the huge body of the spider beast began to pulsate with Earth magic ether particles... causing Lancelot's eyes to open wide with alarm as he dodged hastily...
An earthquake erupted from its body...
And an enormous magic formation began to emerge from underneath Lancelot's feet as he frowned. The monster caused the ground to explode with huge rocks and spikes aiming towards both Lancelot and his army.
Lancelot could avoid the danger himself... but he had to worry about his frost hares' safety! He cursed and flew fast... protecting his forces before rushing back towards the beast... his sword shone brilliantly in the sunlight—Lancelot slashed downwards fiercely to kill it quickly, but a sudden flash of black light struck him...
⟪Terra Engorgio⟫
A black flaming spider wrapped itself around Lancelot's body... causing him to curse as he smashed the flame beast, breaking free instantly, but the earth magic explosion continued unceasingly, blocking Lancelot from killing the unit easily...
"Gigigigigigigi Die! Die! die!"
The spider began to dance, with a strange, distorted face resembling the fox woman, laughing as Lancelot felt annoyed—as if mocking him... the explosions became fierce, and he couldn't approach easily...
Lancelot growled, realising his army was affected by the quake as well... he didn't want to waste time—so he raised his hands, gazing at the monster before grinning...
"Stupid arachnid."
The flames were suddenly absorbed by a black flame that flowed from the crocks in Lancelot's Dominus, the flaming spider on his body rapidly withering as its Ether was completely drained in seconds, causing the spider beast to widen its many eyes fearfully as Lancelot smirked...
⟪Arc Flame Slash⟫
He swung his blade as arcs of crimson flames cut cleanly into the spider monster's torso... igniting its insides... Lancelot disappeared from its view instantly, reappearing above the monster...
⟪Phantasmal Swordsmanship⟫
Instantly, hundreds of swords pierced its entire body, Lancelot smiling coldly as he held his sword firmly in both hands before stabbing the spider monster's head... cutting it straight down the middle as he fell from the sky...
⟪Whirlwind Slash⟫
His voice echoed softly, slowly, as his body fell—he began to twirl around, with a beautiful and magical aesthetic slicing across the body of the monster, tearing its flesh and igniting it in flames as the spider monster's body burned into ash in an instant...
Lancelot dropped to the ground as a huge amount of Ether entered his body from the two defeated generals; it seemed their lord was likely extremely powerful as he crushed the token to claim land instantly before falling to one knee.
I was too confident—my training slacked... There are many threats in this world... Demons who have been in Avalon for decades... Humans with more armies and connections than you could imagine.
I need to become stronger... If I'm defeated—Camelot will fall... Lancelot vowed strongly before raising his head to see Guinevere flying towards him happily, standing on Tiamat as Lancelot's gaze softened.
For these women, I need to put more effort... My sword and body need to ascend to the next level.
Looking at the frost hares cheering loudly, his victory boosted morale and won the first phase.
The land outside of Sherwood forest was now his and Guin's, allowing them to build a forward defence against the huge collection of demons to the east.
But Lancelot knew that fighting on three fronts would be deadly and thus needed to increase his hold on the southern human city and village.
Too much work, but I must push onward.
"Guin, can you make sure the girls get rest as soon as possible?" He asked, hugging her tightly as she leapt off Tiamat, who restored her fiery redhead form, watching the pair holding each other with a passionate kiss to celebrate victory.
"Of course I can, how are you... so much blood and your armour."
"Nnnn, I just got a wake-up call that was needed badly. I might be strong for a first year, but many things could crush me with one blow..."
"I plan to start intensive training daily from now on—you are welcome to join me."
Guinevere nodded slowly as Lancelot cleaned himself while his armour dropped to the ground, crumbling into dust, as his coagulated blood and wounds began to bleed again—he kissed her neck passionately and spread his tattered wings wide, flapping them slowly as if to keep himself standing.
"I have to return to Camelot and apply the changes... and upgrade to a city... otherwise, the enemies who attack can just take our land away easily."
Lancelot's arms fell weakly as Guinevere felt worried, holding him against her body, trying to heal him as much as possible, but his body seemed too exhausted to recover... "Tiamat... can you please take Lancelot to Camelot?" She looked to her trusted commander with a soft voice and worried, flooding her lovely blue eyes.
"T-That bastard... what if he tries something funny!?"
"Then let him..." Guinevere joked, causing the redhead's face to turn red as she kicked the ground and pouted once again, transforming into her dragon form and grabbing Lancelot in her arms, as his eyes looked faded and weak.
"Thanks, Guinevere..."
"Don't worry, you fought hard. No, let your wife take care of everything."
"Ikumi, gather your unit and help
The black dragoness had been brainwashed by her first defeat and now did common farming and lumberjack work without care.
