Chapter 317 - 316: Eavesdropping
As expected, birds of a feather flock together; associating with the wrong crowd leads to corruption.
South Grant decided to ignore South Grant and Hugo Lynch, and she entered the hotel through the back door.
Once inside, South Grant observed the well-trained staff, glanced at the row of private rooms, and thought about knocking on each one to take a look.
If she was wrong, she could just claim she had the wrong room; no harm done.
At that moment, a female server hurried by, bending over as she walked.
Seeing South Grant empty-handed and idle, she placed the tray she was carrying into South Grant’s hands.
"Please help me deliver this to room 888."
After that, the waitress clutched her stomach and quickly ran to the restroom at the end of the corridor.
South Grant noticed she looked like she had an upset stomach.
No choice but to be a good person for once, act like a generous helper, and deliver the tray for her first.
It seems fortune favors South Grant; even fate was on her side.
When she arrived at room 888, she saw that the room held Hugo Lynch’s agent and the crew’s assistant manager drinking.
Feeling a sense of delight as refreshing as a cool breeze, South Grant placed the platter of lobster on the table and then stood aside with a smile.
The assistant manager of The Rhythm of the Heart Crew looked up at that moment and saw South Grant, his gaze slightly fixated.
Hugo Lynch’s agent, not noticing his expression, continued speaking:
"Assistant Manager, you’ve done well this time. Here, a toast to you. Kicking Caleb Holt out of the crew means this kid will never recover. On behalf of Hugo Lynch, thank you."
However, the assistant manager wasn’t listening to him at all; instead, he remarked, "The servers at this restaurant are each prettier than the last."
Upon hearing these words, South Grant lowered her head slightly, bringing some risk upon herself.
Hugo Lynch’s agent turned his head to glance at South Grant. Because she was bowing her head and busy tidying the adjacent dishes, he didn’t get a clear look, only noticing her well-endowed chest.
He chuckled, then turned to the assistant manager and said:
"Assistant Manager, you’ve seen the world. No matter how attractive the servers here are, they can’t compare to the beauties and stunners we have in our industry. Aren’t there a few participating in the current competition within the crew?"
The assistant manager coughed twice, then stopped paying attention to South Grant.
It was understood that these servers were different from some of the actresses in their circle and couldn’t be meddled with.
"Alright, let’s get down to business. How does Hugo Lynch plan to thank me for winning the championship?" the assistant manager asked, seeking his due reward.
"Assistant Manager, however you want our thanks, it’s all negotiable. Once the championship is secured, the prize money will be all yours; Hugo is just in it for the fame."
Only then did the assistant manager nod; after all, that championship prize wasn’t a small amount.
The assistant manager reminded Nolan Nash’s agent at this moment:
"Be careful of Leo White; he overheard our plan. If he reveals it, we might all be in trouble."
Hugo Lynch’s agent waved it off confidently, assuring the assistant manager:
"Assistant Manager, no need to worry, I’ve already talked to Leo White. Their company plans to shoot a movie concurrent with Hugo’s next film, and they picked Leo White as the lead. Rumor has it that the company’s higher-ups have decided to replace him with Caleb Holt. Under these circumstances, there’s no way Leo White would defend Caleb Holt. Rest assured, this matter will be buried with him, and he won’t mention it to anyone. He’ll just watch Caleb Holt get bashed online."
