Chapter 215: Bound By Blood [Part 1]
Chapter 215: Bound By Blood [Part 1]
While Rasta was mixing the concoction for the base they needed for the blood pact, Leone sent a telepathic message to his vassals.
Moments later, they all gathered and stood behind their Great Chieftain, looking at Logan with solemn expressions on their faces.
For a brief moment, the Orc Champion thought they were worried that he would hurt the young man.
Then again, it was beneath him to explain himself to others. Right now, the only ones he acknowledged in the Aslan Tribe as his equals were Leone and Brann.
Aside from them, everyone else was unimportant.
"It’s done," Rasta said after he poured the concoction into the bowl and mixed it. "Once both of you are done dripping a few drops of your blood, the concoction will turn red."
After saying that, he extended the bowl to Logan first. Without missing a beat, the Orc Warlord casually pressed a dagger on his palm to draw blood and squeezed some of it out into the bowl.
"Your turn." Logan then handed the bowl to Leone, who accepted it.
"Before I add my blood here, I will ask you once more," Leone said calmly. "Are you sure you want to swear brotherhood with me?"
"Yes," Logan answered.
"How should I refer to you after we become sworn brothers, then? Should I call you brother?" Leone asked in a teasing tone.
"Just call me Logan, and I’ll call you Leone," Logan replied. "After that, I will treat the Aslan Tribe as a true ally of the Ravage Tribe. Not a mere ally by name."
The young man smiled faintly before taking the ceremonial dagger that came out of Daedalus’ pages.
He then pressed the blade onto the palm of his hand, drawing out blood, which he allowed to fall into the bowl.
Just as Rasta had told them, the mixture in the bowl turned red.
"Heal." Leone cast the healing spell on his palm, then he did the same on Logan’s hand.
Since the wound was very shallow, it closed up immediately, leaving no traces behind.
Just as Rasta was about to take the bowl and pass it to Logan so he could drink his half of it, something unexpected happened.
The mixture in the bowl shone faintly and turned golden.
"T-This..." Rasta had no idea why the mixture had suddenly changed color. For this reason, he was unsure if it was safe to make Logan and Leone drink it.
"Don’t worry, it’s fine."
Hearing those words, Rasta glanced in the direction from which the voice had come, only to see the book originally strapped on Leone’s waist had unfastened itself and started to hover beside the young man.
"There’s nothing wrong with the concoction," Daedalus said. "It’s just that I decided to bless this blood pact and make it more special."
"...What are you?" Rasta asked.
He knew Leone always carried the book on his waist wherever he went. However, he didn’t know that the book was no ordinary book.
"My name is Daedalus," Daedalus replied. "And since we are about to become true allies, Leone has permitted me to show myself to all of you.
"The fact that I am now talking to you is a show of sincerity and trust from my Master. That is how much he treasures this alliance between our two tribes."
"C-Can I ask you a question?" Rasta asked. "Are you a divine artifact?"
"I am." Daedalus nodded.
Rasta recalled something. In the legends passed from one generation to the next, it was said that the Monster Sovereign had a divine artifact. Unfortunately, the records didn’t say what kind of divine artifact it was.
"Then, do you know who the Monster Sovereign is?" Rasta inquired.
"I’ll leave the answer up to your imagination," Daedalus replied without hesitation.
He neither affirmed nor denied anything, which made it difficult for Rasta to obtain further answers.
"Just think of me as a talking book," Daedalus added. "An amazing talking book that is one of a kind. I go by many names, but my previous owners called me the King Maker."
"Look at you, tooting your own horn." Leone smirked. "Do you want to be praised by others so badly?"
"Of course not." Daedalus shook its body. "I’m just making them understand how lucky they are to become our allies. Also, you should start drinking that concoction soon. The effects will fade in ten minutes. Don’t worry, it’s not poisoned. It has a couple of benefits that will make this blood pact more memorable."
Rasta still hesitated, undecided whether he could trust a talking book. Yet, Logan didn’t seem to mind this sudden turn of events.
"Give me the bowl, Rasta," Logan said calmly.
"Are you sure?" Rasta asked.
"Yes."
"...Fine."
The Orc Champion drank half of the concoction before handing it to Leone.
The young man observed Logan for nearly half a minute to see if there were any side effects. Seeing that there was none, he also drank the rest of the concoction.
’It’s sweet,’ Leone thought as soon as the contents of the bowl touched his lips.
He almost thought that he was simply drinking some kind of fruit juice, making it easier for him to down it in one go.
When he was done drinking, he put the bowl down and was about to say something when he felt a searing pain all of a sudden, which made him clutch his chest with his hand.
Leone’s vassals almost panicked at the sight. Their chieftain seemed to be in pain, but Daedalus assured them that its Master was fine.
It was then that Logan also felt a pain in his chest. Though unlike Leone, he endured it calmly.
A moment later, rows of Orc text appeared in front of Logan, making the Orc Champion gasp in shock.

At first, Logan didn’t understand what was happening. But he instinctively knew that something had changed within him.
However, it didn’t end there.
All of a sudden, Leone’s body glowed with a golden color. A moment later, a ripple of power expanded from his body before sweeping outward, covering the entirety of Grimjaw Mountain and its forest.
At that exact moment, the members of the Aslan Tribe and the Ravage Tribe suddenly felt themselves growing stronger.
Since the Aslan Tribe was very familiar with this feeling, all of them cheered. Their Great Chieftain might have completed another one of his missions!
It meant their tribe had taken yet another step to become stronger than ever.
The members of the Ravage Tribe, on the other hand, had no idea that their stat parameters had increased.
After all, this was something that never happened in the past. But despite their cluelessness, all of them could tell that it had something to do with the Chieftain of the Aslan Tribe, who was shrouded in mystery.
