Chapter 148: FRIDA - 148
Chapter 148: FRIDA - 148
"A Maid marrying a Lord?" the people whispered.
"It’s so rare and unheard of"
"She’s so lucky, not everyone gets this opportunity." the people gossip throwing flowers at the passing marriage carriages.
They were marrying her and Mary off on the same day.
The slap they had given to Mary was still vivid in her memory.
She was really getting married, she had still not received any information from Master Song and she was getting very desperate and restless dressed in wedding attire.
She sat in the carriage opposite master Eric "You are troubled."
"Aren’t you troubled too? your family is about to marry you off to a spy you barely know." She asked.
He shrugged with a smirk "Oh so you admit that you are a spy."
"You already suspected, if you were going to harm me I wouldn’t be so confident to sit opposite you." she said, unnerved by his smirk.
He shut his eyes breathing steadily "My parents...They’ve never been good people, if anything. I’m grateful to be leaving their property."
"You prefer to marry a stranger, a low class maid, than stay with your family...you must absolutely despise them." she shook her head, folding her arms.
"I do. And you? Is it okay for you to marry a stranger you do not trust?" he asked as they stopped the carriage at the wedding venue.
"It is my duty, I don’t know what my mission is yet but for now I know I have to stay within your family." She explained and he nodded.
"Blind devotion is rare, that’s why I want you near. To jump into an arrow for your master, loyal maids are hard to come by these days."
"Good luck wife." he teased as they announced for her to leave the carriage and led her to the designated area for the wedding.
He followed behind her, red and gold the theme of the beautiful wedding.
Melodies were played all around, but she was so tense and lost in thought, she didn’t know when they had gotten to the vows.
"Well would you take him to be your lovely wedded husband?" the man asked again.
"Yes." The words were strained in her voice, she was waiting for anything right now to happen but nothing did.
Anticipation was biting her in the rear
He leaned in to kiss her and she stiffened "Never been kissed before?" his lips hovered close to hers and she held her breath.
"Poor you, what will you do during our wedding night tonight?" He teased then blood gushed out of his mouth.
Her eyes widened as an arrow pierced through his chest, his head and his stomach.
One tore through his chest again and pierced her in the chest.
She caught his bleeding body in her arms.
"Frida?" a voice woke her up with a start and she gasped, her forehead head covered with sweat.
"You’re sweating, it will ruin your wedding face paint, " her assistant sighed.
She was really in a wedding dress but she was not in the same carriage as Lord Eric.
Fear shook her but she had no one to tell and no way to stop it.
There was no way she could stop the wedding because she had a bad dream.
So she had no choice but to find a way to save Eric.
They arrived at the exact same wedding grounds and every step inflicted fear in her mind.
She looked around but there was no assassin, no bow and arrows, so she waited.
As they said their vows she paid kin attention but nothing happened "My face is down here." Lord Eric said and she bent down to kiss him on the cheek.
"You look worried." He whispered as she stood to her full height, she didn’t answer him, she was confused.
Had her dream really just a flimsy feeling of fear and nothing more?
Should she ignore it and just enjoy the wedding? She sat at the reception deep in thought.
Mary sat opposite them looking miserable, to be honest the man she married wasn’t ugly, he was quite charming and witty.
Perhaps the problem was that Mary didn’t want to marry a man at all.
She excused herself to wash for a bit, as she stood naked in the chambers to change, hands cupped her breasts from behind and she nearly screamed before another hand covered her mouth "Shhhh it’s me, Mary."
"Mary? What are you doing it’s your wedding day?" she asked in shock.
Mary hugged her from behind. "It is you I love, not him...I hate that my parents have forced me to marry someone I do not love, come run away with me."
"No." She pulled her hand from Mary’s grip "What you are asking if Me, could very well end my life. If you truly care for me you will realize that we cannot be together in this lifetime ever and let me go."
"I cannot let you go." Mary yelled at her "I can’t, I tried...I really cannot." Mary tried to touch her and she stepped back.
"Enough, your brother is my husband, stop this madness." She insisted.
"Run away with me, escape this place with me." Mary pleaded and she stepped back.
"No."
"Why? Is it because you are scared?" Mary asked impatiently.
"No it is because I do not love you." She said to Mary and Mary’s eyes filled with tears, she turned and ran out of the bathroom.
As she dressed and returned to the ceremony to continue the celebration she saw Mary pick up something from her table and walk across to Lord Eric’s table.
The edge of its blade glinted in the moonlight and she screamed "Nooooo!"
The blade pierced through Eric’s chest, she stared in horror. She actually saw Eric smile as people screamed and shouted in shock.
Mary withdrew the blade and sliced her neck open.
People ran out of the wedding reception in horror, while she stood there as Mary fell to her knees "If I can’t have you, he can’t have you either."
