Chapter 985 - 946: Mother and Son Safe (Part 2)
"Come on, just a little bit more! Push harder, believe that you can do it!"
Sienna Johnson’s forehead was drenched with sweat, dripping down her cheeks, drop by drop.
"Ah! I can’t do it anymore... I have no strength left." Sienna’s face was covered in tears and sweat, as if she were trekking through a desert, utterly exhausted.
"You’ve endured the hardship of pregnancy for ten months, all those difficult months, and now, just a little bit more, are you going to give up? Or do you want me to forcefully pull the child out and risk a lifelong fracture?" Dr. Mitchell’s sharp words spurred Sienna.
"Sienna, you can do it, you need to believe in yourself." Adrian Desmond also encouraged her.
Sienna nodded, adjusting her breathing, listening to Dr. Mitchell’s commands, and pushed again.
"Very good, let’s do it again, push!"
Sienna looked at the light above her, felt a wave of dizziness, her eyes shimmered, she clenched her fists tightly, gritted her teeth, and used the last ounce of her strength.
The child slipped from her body, pain instantly vanished, yet Sienna was utterly exhausted.
"It’s a little guy." Dr. Mitchell held a tiny, skinny little creature like a monkey.
"..."
"Come on, Dad will help cut the umbilical cord."
The nurse handed Adrian a pair of scissors, his scalp tingled, he who dared to kill was suddenly filled with fear.
Sienna struggled to stay conscious, "Adrian, you can do it."
Adrian steadied himself, gritted his teeth, and with one cut... after setting down the scissors, his hands placed at his side were trembling.
Dr. Mitchell quickly tied the cut umbilical cord to prevent infection.
"Why isn’t he crying?" Sienna worriedly asked.
Dr. Mitchell patted the child’s bottom, the child whimpered twice, but didn’t cry.
Dr. Mitchell laughed, "He doesn’t seem to like crying."
Sienna: "..."
Dr. Mitchell cleaned the blood-stained baby, wrapped him in a small blanket, and placed him beside Sienna.
"Congratulations to you both."
"Thank you."
The nurse said, "Come on, let’s take a family photo."
Sienna said, "It’s not a full family photo, we still have a daughter."
"Then take one with the second baby."
Adrian removed his mask, embraced the mother and child, the child lying in Sienna’s arms, and with a click, captured the precious moment of the little baby’s arrival into this not-so-beautiful world.
A gentle smile appeared on Sienna’s pale face, "Thank, thank—you all." After speaking, she weakly fainted.
"Sienna!"
...
When Sienna woke up, the ward was filled with many people, all gathered around the baby, chatting and laughing.
Adrian first noticed Sienna waking up, asked, "Is there anywhere uncomfortable? Does it hurt? Are you hungry? Do you need some water?"
"You asked so many questions in one breath, which one do I even answer?" Sienna laughed.
"Then does your body still hurt?"
"After giving birth, it doesn’t hurt anymore." This time, although it was premature, the delivery went smoothly.
Adrian stayed by her side, giving her peace of mind, different from when she gave birth to Curly, when she felt so helpless.
"Sienna, you’re awake." Pauline Briggs beamed with joy.
"Let me see the baby."
Adrian pushed the baby crib over, lowering its height, allowing Sienna to see the baby inside without moving.
The baby’s skin was red and wrinkled, tiny fists clenched tightly, sleeping, with a head full of hair, still curly.
Sienna asked curiously, "Why are both of us straight-haired, yet both our children are Curly?"
"Curly hair is great, no need to perm it later." Adrian said.
Sienna: "..."
"Hmph!" Curly sat on a chair, arms crossed, looking unhappy.
"Curly, what’s wrong?"
"Hmph!"
Sienna asked, "Who upset her this time?"
The old lady laughed, "Ignore this girl, she insists on throwing her brother away. I think we should just throw her away."
Sienna looked at her daughter, asked, "You don’t like your brother? Why do you want to throw him away?"
In Orienta, the only child is like a little emperor at home, naturally there can only be one emperor, Curly always being the center of attention, suddenly there’s another little emperor, Sienna really feared Curly would get jealous.
"I don’t like him! I hate him!"
Sienna gently coaxed, "Your brother is very cute, there will be someone at home to play with you."
"No!"
"..."
"If you don’t throw him away, I’ll run away from home!"
Pauline Briggs laughed, "This child is jealous."
"..."
"Curly, even with a brother, we’ll still love you just like before."
Curly remained unhappy, her dark eyes scanning the people in the ward, then hopped off the chair, storming off.
Sienna worriedly said, "Follow her, don’t let her actually run away."
"Mm." Adrian frowned, glancing at his daughter, then back at his son, before following Curly out.
On the hospital lawn, many soon-to-be moms were walking with accompanying nurses.
Curly was venting her anger on a green plant, stripping all the leaves off.
"Didn’t you say you’d be a good sister when your brother was born? Yet now you want to throw him away." Adrian came over, squatted in front of his daughter, and said looking at her.
Curly turned her back, continuing to torment the poor plant.
"Throwing your brother away would make your mom sad."
"Then I’ll leave!"
"Where will you go?"
"Wherever I want! None of your business! Hmph!" Curly continued her tantrum.
