The Demon Emperor was Saint Emperor

Chapter 130: Team Leveling

Chapter 130: Team Leveling

"Uh-huh, I’ll be very, very careful."

Vivian nodded cutely at the words, then reached out to grab onto a corner of Lynn’s clothes, hiding herself entirely in his shadow.

"I’ll release my Protective Fighting Spirit, so as long as you don’t get scared and run around when you see a monster, you’ll be fine."

Bringing a real person to hunt monsters and leveling up low-level players are roughly the same; you need to pay attention to protection. Otherwise, the weak teammates all have the risk of being one-shot by monsters.

But the reality is slightly different. In games, high-level players rely on attracting the monsters’ hatred to protect the newbies in the team, but in reality, how could the monsters be dumb enough to be hard-controlled to death by a taunt skill? They would definitely pick on the weak.

However, game abilities in reality aren’t entirely without benefits. Now, what Lynn does is, unlike in the game as a Warrior, he can’t normally release a protective shield for teammates, whereas the Mage’s Magic Shield is a single-target skill. But in reality now, Lynn’s Fighting Spirit he releases is completely enough to envelop several people. As long as Tang Monk doesn’t leave this circle, no monster can snatch him away.

"Don’t underestimate me! Even if I’m a bit of a noob, I have a lot of courage!"

Vivian muttered somewhat defiantly, but her voice was so small that it didn’t reflect her bravery at all.

"Then hold on tight, we’re off!"

With that, Lynn donned a Berserker’s Barbarian Armor costume, turning the corner of his clothing Vivian was holding into a chain, and charged headfirst into the Underground City with a Barbaric Charge.

From the sunny wilderness into the sunless Underground City, the suddenly darkened environment made Vivian feel slightly uncomfortable, but because Lynn was by her side, she didn’t feel scared.

This Underground City was a wasteland where magic wasn’t flourishing, with only a mere seven layers in total. The first layer, due to being too close to the surface, has no powerful backing, so no monster would choose to dwell here.

Lynn swept through it all the way, only seeing ruins everywhere, not even encountering a small Demon, so he didn’t waste time, taking Vivian straight to the second underground layer.

As soon as the two reached the second layer, a strong Demonic Qi hit them right in the face; a group of low-tier Ogres lived right where the two layers’ corridor was located.

Yet these Ogres hadn’t probably had a full meal in a while, appearing unlike the hulking blue-skinned monsters with wide bodies and bellies that could cover their knees that Lynn remembered. Apart from their large skeletal frames, they looked malnourished and similar to refugees.

"It’s the smell of Humans! Someone’s finally exploring the Underground City again! Capture them, I’m so hungry..."

"Leave the big one for me, you can split the girl!"

Lynn and Vivian didn’t hide their tracks, and the group of communal Ogres soon discovered the intruding man and woman in their territory.

Seeing the arrivals were a big Human man and a delicate-looking girl, the blue-skinned Ogres salivated greedily.

Of course, what they craved wasn’t the soft skin and tender flesh of Vivian, who was pure and moving. Though most Demons’ aesthetics are not much different from Humans’, to the hungry Ogres, no matter how delicious Vivian might be, she was nowhere near as fulfilling as that muscular Berserker big guy.

After all, a little girl could only provide a few bites; without bones, she might not even have eighty pounds of flesh, whereas a big guy was enough to fill them up.

"If you’re afraid of blood, just close your eyes."

Lynn turned back and instructed Vivian, then took out a Wide-Backed Broadsword.

He was the pinnacle existence in the Warrior profession, not particularly skilled at the Berserker path, but at least mastered all weapons; he could even kill with a Magic Staff if he wanted.

"Lynn invites you to join the team, do you accept?"

Before charging, a voice suddenly echoed in Vivian’s heart, and without any hesitation, she chose to accept.

After confirming the team-up, Lynn, holding the Wide-Backed Broadsword, directly charged into the Ogre group, and the starving Ogres didn’t fear Lynn’s intimidating presence at all, meeting his charge head-on.

The two collided thunderously with the monster group, and the blue-skinned Ogres, crashing headlong into Lynn’s Protective Fighting Spirit, seemed to hit a Mack truck, nearly getting crushed.

Even though the Ogres weren’t crushed, colliding so fiercely with an indestructible iron wall, the front rows of Ogres were still battered to a bloody mess by the strong Fighting Spirit, dying on the spot.

"Whoa..."

Vivian let out a small exclamation, but not because she was frightened by the bloody scene, but rather surprised at her own rise in power.

Clearly, she hadn’t even made a move, hadn’t provided any assistance, yet the slain Ogres somehow transferred some power to her.

The world knows that hard training and slaying monsters and demons can level up, but it has to be training you did yourself or kills you made for them to count.

Otherwise, if a max-level big shot casually carried a newbie to Saint Tier or even Demigod, wouldn’t that be like absurdity’s mother opening the door for absurdity — utterly unimaginable?

Yet, what Lynn was doing now was precisely that absurd thing!

She merely hid behind him, doing absolutely nothing, yet in just a short time, her long-stagnant level already showed change. Even though it only increased from level 100 to about level 103, wasn’t this just the beginning?

If you had to say she did something, it was merely accepting Lynn’s team invitation. Lynn... Could allocate the growth power from monster kills to his teammates?

That’s just too...

Vivian covered her small mouth, daring not to speak, defining today’s experience as top secret, not even telling her parents. Otherwise, once this got out, who knew what trouble it might bring to Lynn?

Meanwhile, immersed in her myriad thoughts, Lynn had already massacred his way through the Ogre cluster, and those towering blue-skinned creatures couldn’t withstand even a single strike under Lynn’s sword. Each of his swings took at least five Ogre lives.

This was even with him dividing his attention to care for Vivian. Otherwise, if he used Range Skills directly, an entire set could wipe out half the clan, and Vivian’s level would skyrocket like a rocket ship.

But that’s impossible. In reality, there’s no such thing as teammate damage immunity. Range Skills could potentially affect Vivian. There was no need to push for efficiency since these monsters weren’t enough for him to kill anyway.

Five minutes later, the vicinity of the underground passageway was filled with dismembered Ogre corpses, their originally blue skin dyed blood-red, disguising them as Blood Demons.
