Chapter 474: Another pleasant Moment
Chapter 474: Another pleasant Moment
It was the weekend since the Academy had started. Nothing particularly significant had happened over the past few days.
Well, there was one amazing thing that had happened. During sparring sessions, Amon defeated his opponents much more easily than before.
Though he didn’t get a chance to fight any of the stronger students.
Everything was going smoothly and peacefully.
Currently, Amon was inside the infirmary.
Of course, he wasn’t injured or anything.
He was simply there to talk with Professor Adelia.
Despite it being Sunday, she was still in the infirmary for the day. Who knew? Maybe someone might get injured or hurt.
Right now, they were sitting on a couch in one corner of the infirmary near a window.
Today, she was wearing a sky-blue shirt, a black skirt, and her usual white lab coat. Her prominent breasts looked a tempting as ever.
Her green hair was tied in a simple bun.
And above her head, one side a hairpin attached to her hair.
She looked especially beautiful today.
With a relaxed expression, Adelia asked, "So, you are going to have some new practical lessons soon?"
Amon nodded.
"Yes. But the professors haven’t told us about them yet. They said they will inform us when the time comes."
Adelia narrowed her eyes suspiciously.
"Okay... don’t tell me you came here so you could try getting that information from me?"
Amon laughed awkwardly.
"Haha! How can I do that, Professor? I am here only to meet you. No way I could ever do something like that."
"You!"
Adelia immediately extended her right hand and pinched Amon’s cheek hard.
"Owwch!!"
Amon winced in pain.
"Sorry! But I swear I also wanted to meet you. That’s not a lie."
Adelia released his cheek and sat back comfortably.
"Okay. I will believe you this time."
Amon grinned. "Thank you, Professor~"
Adelia shook her head helplessly.
"Anyways, how are you doing after coming back here?"
Amon thought for a moment.
"Hmm... everything is going well. I am not having any problems. But... there is one thing that is making me especially happy."
Adelia’s expression became slightly concerned.
"What is it?"
Amon smiled mischievously.
"Well... do you remember the time when we went on a date?"
Adelia immediately froze.
Then her face turned slightly red.
"Oh? Yes, of course I remember it clearly. When we had gone on a da—"
She stopped herself.
Then quickly corrected herself.
"Hey! That was not a date!! We were just spending some time together!"
Amon laughed. "Haha! Well, if that’s what you think."
Adelia glared at him. "So what about it?"
Amon pointed toward her hair.
"You see... hehe, nothing. Just seeing that you are still using that leaf hairpin made me happy."
Adelia unconsciously touched her hair.
The crystal-like leaf hairpin remained attached to her bright green hair.
A faint blush appeared on her cheeks.
She gently moved a strand of hair behind her ear.
Then she spoke softly.
"It was beautiful. How could I not use it? After you were gone... this was the only thing I had left that you gave me... so I couldn’t lose it."
Amon smiled warmly.
"It makes me really happy to hear that."
Adelia smiled slightly.
"Hm... and I still can’t believe you got a girlfriend."
Amon chuckled. "Haha, things happen."
"I would like to meet her someday."
"Sure. Why no—" Amon suddenly stopped talking.
A memory flashed through his mind. Scarlett’s jealous stare after seeing the photo of him and Adelia.
The memory alone sent a chill down his spine.
He laughed nervously. "Maybe that’s not a good idea."
Adelia blinked. "Why is it not?"
Amon scratched his cheek awkwardly.
"You see... Scarlett is kind of a jealous woman..."
Adelia looked confused.
"Okay... but what does that have to do with me? I mean, I am just your professor... and I am older than you. How could she get jealous of me?"
Amon’s smile became even more awkward.
"Huh... right. I didn’t tell you much about her in detail. Actually, Scarlett is around your age. Maybe a year older than you. Well, she used to say she was twenty-six years old... but now she’s twenty-seven..."
Adelia’s eyes widened.
"She’s really older than you... even older than me by one year."
"Damn. You know, she lied to me about her age at first."
Amon shook his head dramatically.
"She told me she was only twenty-four. Later she admitted her real age after finding out that I like mature and older women."
"Cough!"
Adelia nearly choked.
Her face immediately turned red.
"You really don’t hesitate to talk about these things."
Amon simply laughed.
Meanwhile, Adelia lowered her gaze slightly.
For some reason, her heartbeat became a little faster. After a brief silence, she gathered her courage. Then, with a slightly nervous voice, she asked,
"So... is that why you asked me out? And maybe... were interested in me?"
Her cheeks became noticeably pink.
It would be a lie to say she had felt nothing during that day.
Her heart had skipped several beats while spending time with him.
Walking through the city together. Holding hands like a couple. Then suddenly he had vanished through a portal.
The memory still hurt.
Even though she had only known him for a few months, she had grown surprisingly close to him.
She knew Amon’s personality.
He often said outrageous things just to tease people. Yet strangely enough... She never hated it.
In fact, she enjoyed it. His innocent face. His cheerful smile. His mischievous personality.
But now he suddenly had a lover.
Amon remained silent for several moments.
Then he looked away. A faint blush appeared on his own cheeks.
He rubbed the back of his neck.
Then he answered honestly. "To be completely honest... it would be a lie if I said I wasn’t interested in you."
The moment those words left his mouth, Adelia’s heart skipped a beat.
Her yellow eyes observed him quietly.
His flushed cheeks. The way he avoided eye contact. The embarrassment on his face.
’He is so cute!!’ The thought appeared in her mind automatically.
Then she shook her head and chuckled softly.
"Good to hear."
A moment later she smiled gently.
"So... it’s afternoon. Want to have lunch with me?"
She decided to changed the topic. Her expression looked pleased.
Amon immediately looked back at her. A bright smile appeared on his face. "Yes!! I am ready for it anytime."
Seeing his mood improve so quickly always amused her.
’He is the same as always... even after going through so much.’
She remembered everything Amon had told her. How he end up on the island. Then those battles.
Then how he fought against demons.
Even the torture he had endured after being captured by those demons. Amon didn’t go in detailed...but he still told her in short what they did to him. All because Adelia insist on it.
Those things only made him more sad and feel slight guilt.
’If only I had been there with him... he wouldn’t have had to go through all that pain.’ She thought with sadness.
And honestly, she still couldn’t understand how he remained the same person.
If it had happened to someone else, those experiences would have left deep scars.
Yet Amon still smiled.
He still joked. Still acted exactly like himself. But then again... Amon had always been different from normal people.
Even Amon knew that himself.
There was a part of him that was slightly twisted.
Not in a bad way.
But in a way that allowed him to keep moving forward no matter what happened. And perhaps that was one of the reasons why he could still smile like this today.
And more than anything, he was happy to have met those people and even met Scarlett.
So he didn’t regret going to that island.
Adelia ordered some food from the cafeteria for lunch.
Then Amon suddenly said,
"By the way... I might need to go to the capital city. Want to accompany me that day? I need to take something from a shop that I had given for repair."
His voice pulled her back from her thoughts. Watching his happy expression.
Her heart ease a little.
She looked at him interested.
"Oh... sure. If I am free, I will. When do you need to go?" There was no reason for her to refuse it.
In a way...he might be her most favorite student. And spending time with him and roaming another city together seems interesting and exciting to her.
Amon shrugged. "I don’t know yet. I will be informed by the shopkeeper when it’s ready for pickup."
Adelia nodded. "Okay. I will. By the way, you know my brother was asking about you. He wanted to meet you. After all, it’s a miracle that you came back. He thought you were dead." She told him about her big brother who was little close with Amon when he met him on island.
Amon’s eyes widened slightly after hearing her.
Then he nodded with a smile. "Alright. I would love to meet him again. Actually I am excited to meet him."
Watching his expression only made Adelia feel more light.
’I hope he stays like this and never changes,’ she thought wishfully.
