Chapter 295: Let’s Talk
Chapter 295: Let’s Talk
Aunt Holly sighed, "The old lady needs to rest now and doesn’t want to be disturbed. That’s her wish. Eric, don’t make it difficult for me."
Eric Rowe clenched his fist and then released it repeatedly, and after a few times, he seemed to relent, "...I understand."
Jessica Young stepped forward, "None of us can go up? We’re all really worried about the old lady, and we won’t feel at ease if we don’t check on her."
Aunt Holly still shook her head, "The old lady said she wants to be alone."
Finally, it was Ian Rowe who spoke, "Let’s disperse for now and let grandma rest well."
His words were always convincing, and everyone else agreed.
Ultimately, Ian Rowe stayed at the old house to look after Yolanda Sawyer, while the others went back.
Ian Rowe didn’t return. This time the family driver came to pick him up, but Eric Rowe found it troublesome to call people back and forth, "Maya, let me drive you back, it’s on the way."
Maya Monroe thought for a moment and nodded in agreement.
On the road, Eric Rowe seemed a bit downcast. When stopping at the red light, he couldn’t hold back his frustration and said, "Maya, do you think grandma is okay? Why are we suddenly not allowed to go in?"
He paused, his gaze firm, "After I drop Maya off at home, I want to go back to the old house again."
"Do you think grandma doesn’t like me... thinks I’m too annoying and that’s why she won’t let me in?" He lowered his head, his voice a bit weak.
The sound of car horns blared from behind, the light had turned green, and Eric Rowe drove off.
Maya Monroe opened her eyes, looked at his back, "Don’t think too much, grandma will be okay, and she definitely doesn’t dislike you."
"If you’re not comfortable, you should go back and check, so you can be at ease."
In Maya Monroe’s memories, Yolanda Sawyer attended Kiki Monroe and Eric Rowe’s wedding at the end of the book, healthy and robust. So, Yolanda would be fine.
Maybe it was Maya Monroe’s calm gaze, but somehow Eric Rowe felt slightly comforted in his restless heart.
The car finally stopped at the villa. Eric Rowe frequently came here, familiar with the layout. He got out and opened the car door for Maya Monroe, "Maya, we’re here."
"Eric, thank you for your trouble."
"No trouble at all."
"Maya... do you think I’m particularly useless? Since birth, I haven’t once set my family at ease. People outside secretly call me ’the family sponge.’ I know I’m useless and have to rely on my brother for everything. Grandma worries herself sick over me, and it’s all my fault for being too troublesome."
He slightly lowered his head, his dejected look remarkably like a large, fluffy dog.
"Why would you think that? Who said you’re not capable? Lately, you’ve been shining on the screen, gaining a lot of popularity. That’s not just because of your brother, right? Your identity might be a bonus, but it won’t entirely define your impact. Have you ever noticed how your fans look at you? Isn’t it with fervent admiration?"
"If you feel your skills aren’t enough yet, keep honing them. One day, you’ll be satisfied with yourself."
Eric Rowe blinked lightly, as if having an epiphany.
Maya Monroe coughed lightly, feeling her throat a bit dry. It turns out someone as straightforward as her isn’t suitable for advising others, especially with long-winded persuasion.
Eric Rowe lifted his head, determined, "Maya, you’re right. I shouldn’t be so disheartened."
Seeing him revitalized, Maya Monroe nodded, "If you want to go back to the old house, then go."
"Okay!"

Old House
"Uncle Ye, how’s grandma?" Ian Rowe saw Ye Lin coming out of Yolanda Sawyer’s room and stepped forward.
Ye Lin, with a hunched back, was assisted by his apprentice carrying a medicine box.
He stroked his beard, "No need to worry, it’s just that the excitement triggered an old ailment. She just needs a good rest for a while."
Ian Rowe felt slightly relieved as Aunt Holly went ahead to see Ye Lin off.
Ian Rowe stayed outside for a moment before finally deciding to remain by the door.
The odds were that Yolanda Sawyer was upset with Tristan Rowe. At this time, her frail body needed quiet rest.
Thinking of Tristan Rowe, a chill flashed through Ian Rowe’s eyes.

Ian Rowe had stayed at the old house for a few days, and when Maya Monroe saw him again, it was when he visited the set.
Upon hearing that Ian Rowe was coming, Maya Monroe was taken aback.
"Why did you suddenly come over? Aren’t you very busy?"
"I missed you," he said frankly.
Quite a few people were around, including an assistant and several moving staff, and Maya Monroe inexplicably felt her face heat up.
"How’s grandma doing lately?"
Ian Rowe said slowly, "She’s much better now..."
Somehow, Maya Monroe always felt there was a hint of melancholy hidden in Ian Rowe’s handsome brow, as if he had something on his mind.
She thought about it and decided to ask, "Do you have something bothering you?"
"Not really."
Ian Rowe’s timing wasn’t ideal. Maya Monroe had a scene about to shoot, and the schedule was tight.
Ian Rowe tidied up her costume for her, his fingers pausing on her cheek for a moment, "Go do your work."
With the assistant urging, Maya Monroe turned back, "You should go back first, I’ll be home tonight."
"No rush, I’ll wait for you here." With that, he had already sat leisurely on a long bench.
Maya Monroe glanced back at him twice, then finally went to catch her scene.
Scott didn’t leave with Maya Monroe but stayed behind to pack Maya Monroe’s belongings.
Maya Monroe often couldn’t sit still and, instead of staying in the RV, she liked setting up a temporary tent to relax and enjoy the scenery.
In summer, there were many mosquitoes, so insect repellent was essential, amidst a pile of miscellaneous odds and ends.
Suddenly, a deep voice sounded, "Are you Maya’s assistant?"
Scott put down the item in his hand and looked in Ian Rowe’s direction, then hurried over, "Yes, Mr. Rowe, I’m Maya’s assistant."
Whenever he made eye contact with him, Scott admired Ian Rowe even more. Such looks, such demeanor— no wonder he was his idol since college.
"You’re with her every day?"
"Almost... if there’s work scheduled, that’s how it is."
Ian Rowe nodded lightly, "Is Leo Lancaster on set?"
Scott was puzzled, "Leo Lancaster...?"
"The one you’re thinking of, Leo Lancaster."
"Oh... the actor Leo, he’s on this set, I think he’s here for a special appearance, I can’t remember exactly. Mr. Rowe, is there something you need to know?"
Ian Rowe’s lips tightened unconsciously, pretending to be casual, "Does Leo Lancaster often come to find..."
He hadn’t finished speaking when he saw a figure in a high-end suit approaching, the gentle smile at the person’s mouth slightly stiffened.
Ian Rowe stood up and walked over.
"Ian, here to see Maya?"
Ian Rowe didn’t answer, "Do you come often?"
"Not really, I come to check now and then. She doesn’t seem to like chatting with me."
Ian Rowe’s gaze lingered on him for a moment, "Let’s go have a chat."
