Chapter 324 - 77: Touching the Legendary (Part 2)
Chapter 324 - 77: Touching the Legendary (Part 2)
As expected, after waiting for about ten days, a blinding green light streaked across the sky, and the powerful aura was undisguised.
The Green Ghost King, Medici, descended upon this place.
In midair, Medici hovered, his indifferent gaze sweeping over the base, expressionless.
Inside the base, Udi opened his brown dragon eyes, his dragon body stepping into the Any Gate, and in the next instant, he appeared in midair, opposite the Green Ghost King.
"Where is Dai’s soul?" Medici’s tone was somewhat tense.
Udi didn’t play any tricks, directly took out the black jar containing the soul, and slightly released a trace of its aura for the Green Ghost King to sense.
Seeing that Dai’s soul was unharmed, Medici’s expression slightly softened, flipping his hand to take out a Spatial Bag obtained from an Abyss Demon, and with a thought, three Legendary Demon corpses appeared in the air.
Udi glanced over, recognizing the races of the three Legendary Demon corpses.
The nine-meter-tall one, covered in Lava Armor, was a Flame Demon.
Flame Demons are the lower bloodline of the Balrog Flame Demon, with strength in the same tier that is much weaker than the Balrog Flame Demon.
The second and third corpses were both Abyssal Three-headed Dogs, but judging by their size, these two Abyssal Three-headed Dogs were likely hybrids, and their bloodline wasn’t much stronger than that of the Flame Demon.
A pure-blood Abyssal Three-headed Dog is a powerful creature comparable to a Golden Dragon, and advancing to Legendary is almost a certainty.
"Here are the three Legendary Demon bodies; you should give me the soul." Medici’s eyes were fixed on Udi.
"We’ll exchange at the same time," Udi said, squinting.
Medici nodded slightly, knowing that the other party also did not trust him, and in a situation where neither side trusted the other, arguing over who gives first would be endless.
The black jar was hurled out by Udi, while Medici simultaneously put the three Legendary Demon corpses into the Spatial Bag and tossed it towards Udi.
Just as both parties made their moves, countless thick vines erupted in the air, instantly taking away the black jar containing the soul.
Simultaneously, Udi used the Any Gate to grab the Spatial Bag into his Dragon Claw.
The both of them looked at each other in surprise, obviously not expecting the other to refrain from any underhanded tricks.
"Perhaps we can continue to cooperate," Udi was the first to speak, grinning.
Medici squinted, nodding slightly, "If it’s to deal with that Abyss Lord, I am very much in favor."
"Alright, then my subordinates will no longer slaughter the Green Ghost Race," Udi agreed straightforwardly.
"All Ghost Races in this area will avoid us," Medici said calmly.
Both sides were quite tacit.
But if an opportunity arose, both would probably be thinking of killing the other.
The temporary cooperation was merely because both were smart enough to realize that the Abyss Lord was the greatest threat.
The Demon Legion and Black Wing Legion led by Udi descended onto this plane, initially categorized by the Green Ghost Race as the troops of the Abyss Lord. But as various events unfolded, including this transaction involving demon corpses, the Green Ghost King Medici realized that this Black-scaled Giant Beast was a third party.
Unrelated to the Abyss Lord.
It’s quite possible that the Abyss Lord was completely unaware of this creature.
So Medici chose to endure and did not plan any tricks with the bodies of the Legendary Creatures, aiming to test the waters and seek possible future cooperation.
The two sides exchanged contact information and then the Green Ghost King flew away.
Udi squinted as he watched the distant Green Ghost King, letting out an inexplicable laugh.
Soon, he returned to the base and instructed Aoqi to control the Demon Legion under his command, then delved into the Underground Cave, disappearing without a trace.
This time, Udi planned to fully digest all three Legendary Demons before emerging again.
More than ten days later, the Banquet cooldown hit zero, and Udi consumed two Abyssal Three-headed Dogs at once to max out the Banquet meter.
As his size increased, the energy required for each Banquet also grew.
Time passed.
A month went by in the blink of an eye.
Udi awakened again from the Banquet’s enhancement.
Since last consuming the Abyssal Three-headed Dogs, this time’s Banquet saw Udi devouring a Legendary Flame Demon.
At this point, Udi’s Biological Level had reached Level 19 High, elevating by two Small Tiers in succession.
Standing at the peak just below the Legendary Tier, his next breakthrough would be into the Legendary Tier.
The two Banquet devours granted two talents: one was the Abyssal Three-headed Dogs’ [Soul Absorption] talent, which allows him to directly absorb the soul of a living being into his stomach, a talent specifically for attacking souls.
The other talent came from the Flame Demon, the [Demon Flame] talent.
Its effect is mastering a special flame known as Demon Flame, which is difficult to extinguish once it catches fire.
Both talents are Tier One, and even after consuming two Abyssal Three-headed Dogs, the [Soul Absorption] talent didn’t advance in Level, likely due to the difficulty of enhancing soul-related talents.
In an unknown Underground Cave, a massive Black Dragon slowly opened its eyes, stretching its Dragon Wings exceeding a width of 130 meters and its robust Dragon Body.
"Legendary...."
Upon reaching the peak just below the Legendary Tier, the Black Dragon Lord began contemplating his own legendary path.
To attain Legendary, three major elements are needed.
First, the Legendary Truth, or it might also be called the mystical understanding of the world’s operational rules.
This is the most critical aspect; without comprehending the Legendary Truth, one can never truly become Legendary.
Second, Legendary Energy: transforming one’s energy into pure Legendary Level energy.
This aspect is relatively easier; once the Legendary Truth is understood, an energy breakthrough can quickly follow. Even without understanding the Legendary Truth, many Forbidden Techniques or Secret Techniques can elevate one’s energy level to the Legendary Level, though most have significant side effects.
Third, a Legendary Body: the transformation of one’s body continuously strengthened by the evolved Legendary Energy until the body possesses energy traits signifying successful transformation.
With energy traits, many previously lethal parts of the body become gradually less critical.
Of course, a Legendary Powerhouse of Low Tier, if their head or heart is destroyed, would typically still die, but as the body’s energy traits gradually strengthen, eventually, the head and heart would cease to be vital spots, becoming no more significant than ordinary fingers.
Among these three elements, the core is undoubtedly the Legendary Truth.
Udi’s understanding of the Legendary Truth was still somewhat vague, but as his Spiritual Energy grew deeper, its traits also began to manifest.
Udi thought he might find a way to break through to Legendary from there.
Even if a breakthrough couldn’t be achieved in the short term, as long as the Banquet Talent was in play, Udi’s power wouldn’t lag behind.
The Banquet didn’t care for bottlenecks or not; so long as he consumed, he could enhance his strength.
"Enough thinking about it for now, I’ve kept a low profile for too long, it’s hard to hold back...."
The Black Dragon Lord let out a low roar, flapping his Dragon Wings, ignoring the hard layers of rock and soil above, his massive Dragon Body shot through the underground a thousand meters up to the surface like a black arrow.
The scorching sun high above, the Black Dragon let out a Dragon’s Roar to the sky, venting his energies.
Frightening Dragon Wei spread at a terrifying speed, through ten kilometers, a hundred kilometers.... In an instant, a radius of hundreds of kilometers was enveloped in the Black Dragon Lord’s aura.
Below, the Demon Legion lay prostrated on the ground, trembling.
The Black Dragon Lord glanced at the Demon Legion beneath him and, without a word, flew eastward.
Its destination was none other than the front line where the Ghost Races clashed with the Abyss Lord’s army.
During the trade with the Green Ghost King previously, there was an agreement.
But agreements weren’t significant, as they lacked any contractual constraints, they could be broken at any time.
The Black Dragon Lord was headed to assess the prowess of the Abyss Lord’s forces, and incidentally.... see if there was an opportunity to hunt down a few more Legendary Demons.
The wind howled like blades scraping against Dragon Scales.
The Black Dragon Lord didn’t opt for convenient Magic, nor did he choose Invisibility, instead soaring arrogantly.
Having enhanced his strength to this point, it’s fitting to flaunt it a bit.
On this Ghost Race Plane, which houses up to the Legendary Tier Two, who cares! Charge headlong!!
