Chapter 1050 - 480: The Void Truth (Part 2)

"David, do you think you can stop me?"

The Eternal Night Mother sneered coldly, "You’re just a small divine."

David, however, was undaunted, wielding the Wind Divine Format in his hand once again, making the storm even more fierce.

However, the power of the Eternal Night Mother far surpassed David, and she quickly found a flaw in the storm. A black ray of light pierced through the storm, heading straight for David.

Unable to dodge, David was struck by the black light and was sent flying backward.

He landed heavily on the ground, coughing up blood, clearly severely injured.

Liya, seeing this, hurriedly rushed forward to help David up.

She looked at David’s pale face and the blood at the corner of his mouth, her heart full of worry and sorrow.

"David, are you okay?"

Liya asked with concern.

David managed to force a smile and said, "I’m fine. Go save Annie quickly."

Liya nodded and then turned her gaze back to Annie.

Annie, at that moment, was completely engulfed in darkness, as if she had lost all signs of life.

Liya knew she must quickly find a way to save her.

Just then, David suddenly thought of a solution.

He struggled to stand up, walked to Liya’s side, and said, "Liya, I have a way to save Annie, but I need your help."

Liya’s eyes lit up at his words, and she quickly asked, "What way?"

David took a deep breath and said, "I will splice my Chaos Divine Format with Annie’s Desolate Divinity. In this way, we can share pain and memories.

Although this will cause Annie to periodically fall into a ’Void state’, at least it will preserve her mind."

Liya was deeply moved by his words.

She knew David was sacrificing his own life to save Annie.

Without hesitation, she nodded to agree with the plan.

Thus, David and Liya began to cast the intricate magic.

Their figures flickered in the light, as if performing a sacred ritual.

As time passed, fine beads of sweat appeared on their foreheads, clearly indicating that the magic was consuming a lot of their divine power and energy.

Finally, with a deafening roar, the magic was completed.

David and Annie’s bodies were enveloped in a layer of dazzling light and then began to merge together.

When the light faded, David and Annie were seen tightly embracing each other, their eyes filled with determination and courage.

"It worked!"

Liya shouted excitedly.

However, just as they breathed a sigh of relief, Annie’s body suddenly started to tremble.

Her eyes became hollow and bewildered, as if she lost all consciousness.

Soon after, her body started becoming transparent, as if it would disappear at any moment.

"No! Annie is about to fall into a ’Void state’!"

David shouted.

Liya’s heart tightened at his words.

She rushed forward to support Annie, only to find her hands passing right through Annie’s body.

Helpless, she could only watch as Annie’s body gradually faded into nothingness, vanishing into the air.

"Annie!"

Liya cried out in despair.

David also clenched his fists, his eyes filled with agony and unwillingness.

He knew that although he temporarily saved Annie’s mind, he could not prevent her from falling into the "Void state."

And each "Void state" weakened Annie’s Fire of Life, until it would eventually extinguish completely.

The lab fell into a deathly silence, with only Liya and David’s heavy breathing echoing through the room.

They knew they had to quickly figure out a way to prevent Annie’s "Void state," or everything would be in vain.

However, faced with such a harsh reality and difficult predicament, what could they do...

The sky was covered with dark clouds, thunder roared, as if heralding the impending storm.

The Flame Spirit Water Spirit, once a symbol of peace and hope, now stood atop a towering altar, with fanatical flames flickering in its eyes, a gem emitting an eerie light held high in its hand.

"Followers, heed my command!"

The voice of the Flame Spirit Water Spirit resounded through the gale, with an undeniable majesty, "The villages marked as ’heretic’ are blemishes polluting our pure faith. We must launch a ’holy cleansing war’ to completely eradicate them!"

The followers, upon hearing this, knelt, their eyes gleaming with a mix of fanaticism and fear.

They raised their hands high, praying devoutly, as if they could already see the dawn of victory.

With the command of the Flame Spirit Water Spirit, followers surged like a tide toward those marked villages.

A simple weapon in their hands, but their eyes were filled with the desire to kill.

In the villages, innocent villagers fled in terror, only to ultimately fall victim to the slaughter.

Cynthia stood above the clouds, witnessing it all.

Her heart flooded with anger and sorrow.

As the God of Epidemics, she was supposed to be a guardian of life, but now she could only watch helplessly as innocent lives were lost in the chaos.

"No, I can’t just stand by!"

Cynthia gritted her teeth, her eyes flashing with determination.

She took a deep breath and then wielded the scepter in her hand.

A powerful force of epidemics surged from the scepter, transforming into a green light that shot straight toward the rioting followers.

The followers were instantly enveloped by the force of the epidemic, their bodies beginning to twist and contort, cries of pain escaping from them.

However, they did not stop their killing spree; instead, they attacked the surrounding villagers with even more frenzy.

"This is divine punishment!"

A follower shouted, "It’s those heretics who angered the gods, causing us to suffer such punishment!"

Cynthia felt even more sorrow hearing this.

She understood that her actions not only failed to quell the chaos but exacerbated the followers’ fanaticism and fear.

The Faith Network, once strong as iron, was now teetering on the brink of collapse.

At that moment, David’s voice rang in Cynthia’s ears: "Cynthia, we must find a way to stop this chaos, or the consequences will be unimaginable."

Cynthia nodded and said, "I know, but what can we do now?"

David pondered for a moment and then said, "We have to destroy those Faith Base Stations. They are the key to the Flame Spirit Water Spirit’s control over the followers. If we destroy them, the chaos might be quelled."

Cynthia hesitated upon hearing this.

She knew that destroying the Faith Base Stations meant sacrificing the faith of countless followers, an incredibly difficult decision to make.

But at this moment, she had no other choice.

So Cynthia and David started to take action.

They traversed between the Faith Base Stations, using their power to destroy them.

With each station destroyed, they could feel the Power of Faith weakening, but at the same time, more followers lost their lives in the chaos.

Finally, after paying a great price, they successfully destroyed the first Faith Base Station.

However, just as they sighed in relief, a shocking piece of news arrived—the Flame Spirit Water Spirit had defected to the Eternal Night Council with parts of the Rainbow Core Fragment!

"What?!"

Cynthia and David exclaimed in unison.

They knew the Rainbow Core Fragment was the source of the Flame Spirit Water Spirit’s power and the key to its control over the followers.

Now that the Artifact Spirit had defected, it meant all their previous efforts were in vain.

"We must catch up with it!"

David said urgently.

However, just as they were about to set off, the Earth suddenly shook violently.

A mighty Power of Earth Veins erupted from below, instantly destroying the surrounding buildings.

Cynthia and David barely stabilized their bodies and looked up to see Annie’s figure slowly emerging from the ground.
