Chapter 590: Madness Revealed
Chapter 590: Madness Revealed
The unassuming wooden door suddenly flew off its hinges, smashing directly toward the office desk.
At the sight, Lin Kuang shot up from his seat. He caught the door with one hand and gently set it on the ground.
"Why the sudden temper? We can talk things through," Lin Kuang said with a smile, looking at the two men leading the group at the doorway.
At this, Ye Wen and Ye Wu frowned, their gazes turning grave as they looked at Lin Kuang.
"Who are you?" Ye Wen asked coolly.
"I’m Lin Kuang. You’ve surely heard of me, right?" he said with a smile.
Hearing this, Ye Wen and Ye Wu exchanged a look. "So you’re Lin Kuang! To think we searched high and low for you, only for you to fall right into our laps." Ye Wu’s tone turned menacing. "You’ve got some nerve, Lin Kuang, daring to interfere with the Ye Family’s forces. Are you looking for death?"
"Uhh, sorry, but I wouldn’t say I have a death wish," Lin Kuang said calmly with a shrug. "As for your men, I had no choice. They were trying to kill me. I could hardly stand by and let that happen, could I?"
"Hmph! Don’t you know to consider the master before you beat a dog?" Ye Wu cut in, his tone aggressive.
Lin Kuang frowned. It seemed a peaceful resolution was off the table; a fight was inevitable. Realizing this, he dropped all pretense of courtesy. If they were going to be this arrogant, there was no need for him to be polite.
"The master? Tsk, tsk. The Ye Family really is full of itself. So I killed them. What are you going to do about it? Bite me?" Lin Kuang said with a smirk.
At that moment, his arrogance was on full display, clearly showing he didn’t take Ye Wen and Ye Wu seriously in the slightest.
Stunned by his words, they clearly hadn’t expected him to dare speak to them that way. An instant later, fury contorted both their faces.
"Lin Kuang, you’re dead!" Ye Wu roared, throwing a punch straight at him. A ferocious power erupted from his fist, as if he intended to kill Lin Kuang in a single blow.
Seeing Ye Wu make his move, Ye Wen’s expression shifted as he watched intently. Of course, he knew of Lin Kuang—the wielder of the Nameless Sword, lauded as the number one expert of the younger generation in the Ancient Martial Realm. Ye Wen, however, had never been convinced by this title. Now that he was face to face with Lin Kuang, he was eager to test his strength personally. But since Ye Wu had already struck, all he could do was observe for now.
A cold smile touched Lin Kuang’s lips as he watched Ye Wu’s attack. Ye Wu’s strength was impressive, but it was nowhere near Lin Kuang’s level. In the entire younger generation of the Ancient Martial Realm, save for a select few, no one was his match!
Instantly, Lin Kuang activated the Open Door, Rest Gate, and Life Gate within his body, and his power surged exponentially.
Then, his hand shot out and clamped down on Ye Wu’s fist, stopping him dead in his tracks.
"Is this the extent of your strength? How pathetic," Lin Kuang said calmly, looking at Ye Wu’s dark expression.
Hearing this, the dark expression on Ye Wu’s face grew even fouler.
"You’re dead, Lin Kuang! You’re too damn arrogant!" Ye Wu roared furiously. But no matter how much force he channeled into his fist, it felt like he was punching a swamp, having no effect whatsoever.
"It’s not arrogance, it’s absolute confidence. You simply can’t hurt me," Lin Kuang said indifferently, stating it as if it were a simple, undeniable fact.
The next moment, Lin Kuang’s grip tightened. A terrifying power erupted from it, twisting Ye Wu’s face in alarm. But in that same instant, Lin Kuang flicked his wrist and sent Ye Wu flying backward.
Ye Wen, who had been watching intently, paled as he saw his brother thrown. He sprang forward, his hands moving to catch Ye Wu’s back. A powerful force burst from the impact. Ye Wen spun in place once to dissipate the terrifying energy before carefully setting his brother down.
Such incredible strength. This Lin Kuang really is something else. A grave sense of dread rose in Ye Wen’s heart as he stared at Lin Kuang.
"Damn it! I’m going to kill you!" Ye Wu roared, his face flushed with rage, as he started to charge forward again.
Ye Wen frowned and grabbed the enraged Ye Wu. "Don’t. You’re no match for him," he said, his calm tone laced with gravity.
Ye Wu opened his mouth to argue, but ultimately said nothing. He wasn’t an idiot. Now that he had a moment to cool down, he understood that he truly wasn’t Lin Kuang’s opponent. But being thrown around like that filled him with shame and anger. It was an utter humiliation!
"That’s right. You should have some self-awareness. If you’re not my match, then you’re not my match. Charging at me won’t change a thing," Lin Kuang said calmly, looking at the two brothers. "In fact, it would be useless even if you both came at me at once. The two of you together are still not my match."
To Ye Wen and Ye Wu, however, these words were a tremendous insult.
"Arrogant! So arrogant! Lin Kuang, you’re too damn conceited!" Ye Wu roared, glaring at him with pure fury. If Ye Wen wasn’t holding him back, he would have already rushed over.
Lin Kuang shook his head. "It’s not conceit, it’s just a fact. It might be a hard pill for you to swallow, but a fact is a fact."
"Brother, let me go! I can’t take it anymore! I have to kill him!" Ye Wu yelled, turning to Ye Wen with a face red with rage and eyes filled with murderous intent.
"You stay here. I’ll deal with him," Ye Wen said, his expression turning exceptionally grave.
"This isn’t the place to fight," Lin Kuang said calmly to Ye Wen. "If you want to do this, let’s go outside. There’s more open space out there."
"Fine," Ye Wen said decisively.
"Let’s go." With that, Lin Kuang led the way out. Mu Wan and Luo Wenjun hurried to follow.
A few moments later, the group arrived at the open area in front of the elevators. This area was normally used for musters, so its open space was indeed perfect for a fight.
"Alright, let’s do this here," Lin Kuang said with a smile, looking at Ye Wen. "If you’re worried about losing, you two brothers can come at me together. I don’t mind." His nonchalant air was that of an unparalleled expert.
