Chapter 469 - 468: Please, You Must Save Him
"It’s because of people like you who don’t follow traffic rules that so many accidents happen every year." The traffic cop said with a solemn face, "Tell me the details."
Vivian Norris said, "I... I was momentarily distracted and didn’t notice someone running the red light. By the time I reacted, it was too late, and I had to turn the wheel to swerve."
"We’ll handle the pedestrian who ran the red light, but let’s deal with your situation first." The traffic cop said while taking notes.
"Alright." Vivian’s alcohol had mostly worn off by now, and she was worried someone might take pictures, so she covered her face with her hands.
"Hey? This person looks familiar, like someone from that TV show."
"Ah! Yes, yes! It’s that one!"
The bystanders nearby began to recognize Vivian Norris, and some started taking photos and videos.
The traffic cop had no choice but to take Vivian Norris to the police car.
Meanwhile, Bella Acker followed the ambulance taking Archer Quinn to the hospital, and the medical staff who had been waiting at the entrance quickly rushed him inside for emergency treatment.
Bella anxiously grabbed the doctor from the ambulance, "Doctor, how serious are my friend’s injuries?"
"Excessive blood loss, the situation is not very optimistic," the doctor said. "But rest assured, we will do our utmost to save him."
"Please, you have to save him! I’m begging you!"
"Don’t worry." The doctor nodded and quickly left.
Bella also hurried after him, anxiously waiting outside the emergency room.
"Senior Quinn, please don’t let anything happen to you!"
Bella paced nervously outside the emergency room, lifting her head to look at the door whenever she heard any sound. The light stayed on, indicating that the rescue was ongoing.
As time passed slowly, Bella managed to calm down a bit, reaching into her pocket to find her phone, intending to call Archer Quinn’s assistant.
But she searched all her pockets and even rummaged through her bag, yet the phone was nowhere to be found.
Probably after dialing 911, she put the phone back in her pocket and lost it. Even if she returned to the accident scene now, she likely wouldn’t find it.
Moreover, with Senior Quinn’s condition uncertain and no results from the rescue yet, she couldn’t leave the hospital.
Bella could only continue waiting outside the emergency room by herself.
It was a long wait, starting in the afternoon until the sky outside was already darkening when the light in the emergency room finally went off.
The emergency room’s door opened, and Bella immediately stepped forward, "Doctor, how is my friend?"
"We’ve brought him back, but he’s not out of danger yet—he needs to be monitored for another twenty-four hours," the doctor said. "You should follow the nurse to handle the hospital admission procedures."
"Ok... alright. Doctor, does that mean as long as my friend makes it through twenty-four hours, he’ll be fine?" Bella asked.
"We’ll need tests at that time to be sure."
"Okay, thank you, doctor." Bella nodded, glanced at the emergency room once more, then followed the nurse to handle the admission procedures.
Since she’s not a family member, there were some issues with the paperwork. However, the hospital eventually considered the special circumstances and took care of it.
Once Bella finished the procedures and made the payment, Archer Quinn had been transferred to a small two-person ward.
The nurse had already fitted him with an oxygen mask and IV line, and Bella stayed by his side. When they were done, she said, "Thank you for your help."
"You’re welcome," the nurse smiled and said, "Bella, make sure to take good care of Joan."
